Well I faced the same problem. But thanks to the steps (Migper, Umca and paulEdangerous) things are sorted out. Thanks a lot guys. But I would like to outline the steps I took in an absolutely non technical fashion for more people like me. This is what i did: 1. Downloaded the following driver You know you have the right file because if you go to Canon’s website link here: Select Windows 7 (x64) in the drop down And download these drivers: MF5730_5750_MFDrivers_Win_x64_us_EN_7.exe 2. Saved these text files at their locations. Plugged in the USB cable of my printer. When it did not install it properly went to the properties section. Clicked on settings and then driver update. Specified the location of the drivers mentioned above. And let windows do the rest. It did say that the drivers are not digitally signed but I went on nevertheless. This installed the scanner. For the printer I installed the printer driver from the same location as a new printer first and on Virtual USB port 1 as my laptop does not have an LPT or COM port. Then made it the default printer and it worked. Hope it helps. Thanks a lot guys. I still haven't gotten mine to work, either. I can't scan or anything - it shows up as a misc. Device whose driver didn't install properly, though I have gotten the driver for it manually. I haven't been able to run Windows Update, or anything with Microsoft software (W7 RC, Office 2010 beta, Windows Security Essentials) to connect to the internet to do anything (update or activate). I've disabled everything possible, but it still isn't working. I've connected with several forums, but none have the correct answer. I'm going to upgrade soon, but I would really like to get the computer working for the time that I still have the RC. For me, it may be the matter with the printer of not being able to update, but I've tried the printer on other computers and it doesn't work either - even on steady old XP Pro.
